Virtual Staghorn Fern Mounting Workshop

stag.jpg

Bring a bit of the jungle into your home! Join us and REWILD DC for a botanical evening learning how to mount and care for staghorn ferns.

In their natural environment, many ferns grow on trees, not in the pots you see at the garden store. Their long, arching fronds look like the antlers of a deer, and they're extra dramatic when mounted and hung on a wall. In this virtual class, you’ll learn how to make a beautiful living wall hanging and gain the knowledge needed to keep it alive.

In this workshop, students will…
-Learn the fundamentals of staghorn fern anatomy and care, including light requirements and watering tips
-Discover the special properties of staghorn ferns that make it possible to grow them mounted on bark
-Make their own fern mounted to a piece of lightweight, sustainably-sourced cork bark

Here's how it works:
-
This class will be taught virtually via Zoom. You will receive a confirmation email with the link to participate.
