Staghorn Fern Mounting with PLNTR

  • PLNTR 1825 18th St NW 2nd floor Washington, DC (map)

Bring a bit of the jungle into your home! Join us and PLNTR for a botanical evening learning how to mount and care for staghorn ferns.

In their natural environment, many ferns grow on trees, not in the pots you see at the garden store. Their long, arching fronds look like the antlers of a deer, and they're extra dramatic when mounted and hung on a wall. In this virtual class, you’ll learn how to make a beautiful living wall hanging and gain the knowledge needed to keep it alive.

In this workshop, students will…
-Learn the fundamentals of staghorn fern anatomy and care, including light requirements and watering tips
-Discover the special properties of staghorn ferns that make it possible to grow them mounted on bark
-Make their own fern mounted to a piece of lightweight, sustainably-sourced cork bark

No experience or green thumbs needed!
